The Hostal de la Plaça boasts over seventy years of history. Always in the hands of the same family, the fourth generation now run this restaurant that fuses the traditional with the modern in a privileged setting in the Maresme.


The seed was sown in the post-war years, when Doloretes Galbany and Josep Mas were forced to seek alternatives to the hardships of the time. She was a hairdresser and he had just come back from the front line. Given the need for extra income and drawing on the culinary skills of Doloretes, they began to cook dishes for holidaymakers spending the summer in Cabrils.


Tasty tomato bread, country-style omelette, cannelloni... these were staples on the menu of this family business that still exists today in the hands of a granddaughter and a great-grandson. One of those traditional eateries where each summer the same families would meet up and enjoy delicious food under the stars. Their daughter Aurora and her husband Andreu then took over, later passing the business down to Montse, who then brought her nephew Artur on board and both now run the Hostal with the same philosophy that family has conveyed since day one: good food and excellent service.


It is located in a seventeenth-century Catalan farmhouse which was renovated in the 1950s by the architect Duran i Reynals. Rustic charm, Mediterranean essence, traditional and modern fusion, bygone cuisine with an innovative twist. The past and present come together with elegance and distinction, defining the simple luxury and friendly approach of a family that after four generations still conveys this spirit and dedication to service to a large and faithful clientele, who come to enjoy quintessentially Catalan cuisine in a homely setting.
